Language servers
Nexus uses two independent language-server executables in the combined VS Code extension.
| Server | Language and responsibility |
|---|---|
nexusls |
Pascal documents, project context, analysis, diagnostics, navigation, completion, symbols, and refactoring services |
NexusScriptLS |
Nexus Script documents, compiler/dialect diagnostics, completion, navigation, references, rename, formatting, and semantic editor features |
For normal use, install editor integration. The extension manages the server processes. You do not need to launch them manually.
Project and target context
The Pascal server uses project and toolchain context to resolve source units. Nexus Script analysis uses the same explicitly selected targets as the build and includes unsaved imported documents.
See Code intelligence and Configuration.
Integration
Both servers use shared language-neutral JSON-RPC/LSP process infrastructure. Their language models and services remain separate.
The Pascal implementation is under projects/ls/pascal, with Nexus-owned parser
services. The Nexus Script implementation is under projects/ls/nxscript and
uses the reusable Nexus Script compiler and source/Live metadata.
Editor diagnostics establish analysis results. Building with the intended compiler remains the check for a buildable application.
